End of Year : Baseball

Owen and Grant both rounded out the fall baseball season with a great team, many lessons learned and best of all lots of fun.
Owen had a great learning experience this season on The Cardinals team since this was the first time Jeff was not his coach. Owen is a true baseball player with lots of heart and a total love of the game. He can be a little too competitive and he thinks there is no one else who can play the game as well as him but he sure loves it.(He still has a thing or two to learn!!Ha,ha!)
Grant had his daddy as his coach this season on the Riverdogs tee-ball team which was also a learning experience. Grant is such a different kid than Owen and he likes to "test the water" if you know what I mean. By the end of this season Grant improved greatly and started to really like the game. He sure has an arm on him!!

Muddy Buddy : An Adventure in Mud!!!2008

Jeff and his friend Tim and 6 other of our crazy friends signed up for the Muddy Buddy Ride & Run Series, a 6-7 mile event with biking, running, obstacles, and of course the infamous mud pit on May 10th 2008. They had all had great race and dispite sketchy training by some they all finished the race unharmed!!! Jeff and Tim finished in 55 mins and 48 seconds--first of all of our friends that went that day and finished 13th in their division.

The kids got a part of the action after the race when they got to do a mini obstacle course and then crawl through the mud pit. They loved it! Grant wasn't sure he wanted to do it but decided at the last minute he would race but he would walk not crawl throught the mud pit with his friend Jake Z.! It was halarious!!!! Aunt Nancy turns 70!

Jeff's Dad and his wife Rhonda asked us if we would be able to come to PA for a weekend to be a part of Aunt Nancy's 70th birthday celebration. Of course we said yes because Aunt Nancy is one of the most thoughtful, caring and most special ladies we know.

It was a great event and Aunt Nancy was touched by all of the relatives who came in her honor had not seen each other in 15 some years. We all told our favorite stories about Nancy and we all laughed and cried with her!! Rhonda did a great job organizing and planning the party and Jeff & I want to thank her for all of her hard work on the party planning.

It was a quick trip but so worth all of the travel to be with family, on the farm and feeling "at home." The boys as usual had a total blast being the little "men" they think they are on the farm! They even got the chance to help demolish an old cabin! We are all looking forward to spending a week there this summer!

Girls Weekend get Away

Every year 2 of my friends Susan and Erica and myself try and plan a weekend without the kids and husbands for a getaway of just "girl time." Susan and Erica and I have know each other for about 18 years and we have never lost track of each other. Unfortunately I, the black sheep, left our home state of PA and have made it a bit harder to keep in touch with. I do have to say we all have done really well at keeping up with each other over the years.

This year we choose Miami, FL for our destination and we really had a relaxing good time. We ate every meal at a really cool place, beached it, shopped it and toured the city about as much as you could in 3 days! Here are some of my favorite picks....I love you Susan and E!!!

New News!

While we were in Sanibel this year I suspected I might be pregnant and well....I WAS RIGHT!! Jeff and I were so excited that we couldn't wait to tell his Mom and our boys while we we together in Sanibel. She was thrilled about our news and Owen was too. Grant wasn't so sure, his only comment was "that is so funny!" We then thought we would wait to tell other family members and friends after I had seen a doctor. Owen took the matter into his own hands at Jake Zollinger's birthday party and told his friend Tyler that I was expecting and the news spread like wildfire. It really was pretty cool how it happened because I wasn't sure how I was going to tell everyone and who to tell first. We then called pretty much everyone we knew that day and the word was out!

I finally saw the doctor yesterday and I was confirmed 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant! I am due November 26th--the day before Thanksgiving! We are thrilled and so excited for number three!

Here's a picture of Grant at 1 month and Owen was 2 years 3 month old. Oh it will be nice to hold a baby again :)!

I'm Back!!

I know it has been months since last blogged and I guess over the holidays I got out of the routine and I just never got back into it. Sorry to all of you who follow our blog. I think I'll just try and do a quick recap and then move on from there!

We did have an AWESOME holiday season filled with lots of family and friends. It was nice to stay in FL another year for the Holidays. The kids are so into the holiday spirit and just love to be home for all of the festivities. Something we did different this year was that we did a Christmas brunch here at our house which was tons of fun(and work) with lots of friends. It really was a nice way to share the Christmas spirit with everyone!

We started another baseball season with Daddy coaching Grant's t-ball team The Riverdogs and Owen playing for the machiene pitch team The Cardinals. I do have to brag a bit and tell you Owen had 4 homeruns the first 3 games he played, then had a streak of a few games with strike outs and now last week he had 2 base hits and another Homerun!!! Owen loves the game and is a true player. He is very passionate and competative when it comes to sports. Grant is doing better than last season with not getting so bored and he can really throw the ball! He just likes to get out there and play with his friends.

We vacationed a few weekends in Sanibel, FL and again for a week over the kids spring break in early April. We stayed with Jeff's Mom in the same place she has rented for the past few years now. Over Easter Jeff's sister and her family joined us there and we all had a grand old time together. We look forward to this trip every year and the kids really look forward to spending some time with their "Nanny."
